The first event in a series of human rights lectures at Ukrainian universities

Today, we spoke about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to a class of first year law students at Kyiv’s National Taras Shevchenko University. During a lively question and answer session we talked about the work we do in Ukraine and about the enduring importance of the Declaration. We showed the students a selection of human rights themed videos featured in a recent video contest that drew dozens of participants from across Ukraine. Our discussion focused on the universal and continuous relevance of human rights, be it in wartime, or in peacetime.

The event was the first in a series of lectures we will be holding at universities across Ukraine in the run-up to Human Rights Day on 10 December.
