On 21 March, we published a report detailing the devastating impact of Russia’s invasion on children in Ukraine.
To visually present these findings, we have created a webstory that highlights the key takeaways from the full report. Click HERE to explore it.
The artwork presented in the webstory and report was created with the help of nine-year-old Yegor who knows firsthand what war is like. Yegor spent the first two months of invasion in his native Mariupol when the city was engulfed in some of the worst fighting of the war. Today Yegor lives in Kyiv, but he still dreams of returning home one day.
The report describes widespread violations of the rights of the child in the context of prolonged hostilities and occupation following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. It covers the period from 24 February 2022 to 31 December 2024 and is based on the work of the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
